How was the frontier closed in the United States?
At the end of the 19th Century the migration of people from the east to the west caused considerable change and conflict. Native Americans lost long held land to United States as it carved out the western territories into states for settlement. The closing of the frontier would lead to ever increasing diversity and conflict. From the time that Europeans came to North America until the present, their interactions with the American Indian peoples have been detrimental to the geographical land holdings of Indians. The project for this section is to select an American Indian nation and track their territory in three different maps. The maps should be a series of the same geographic region (United States, portion of the U.S., etc.). It should show the following time eras:Revolutionary era (1770s), turn of the century (1900s) era, and modern day era. The maps should be followed by a brief history of the nation that you have selected.
