Paris visit-We have planned a tour to Paris in the year end.(2 adults/ 2kids aged below 10)?

But we have note opted to travel with any guide or tour operator. We wish to travel independently.
How many days is actually required to cover the attraction of Paris. We wish to have a relaxed holiday in Paris. Like say about 10 to 14 days.
