I am looking at starting a chain of pubs across south india and I wanted to know what the policies are for serving liquor in most south indian cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Cochin, Trivandrum, Mysore, Vizag, Mangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Calicut and so on. I would also like to know whether there is a difference in case it is attached to a restaurant, small hotel or if there is some extra charges or taxes that need to be added to food in case it is being served in pubs or bars. Also is there a difference in excise and sales tax depending upon alcohol levels in the drinks. If so, does it apply to cocktails as well.
